AIK Confirm Zadok Thigh Injury but Winger Could Return vs Vasteras

AIK have confirmed that Zadok Yohanna picked up a thigh injury during their 4-2 loss to Djurgarden on May 12 and is currently undergoing rehabilitation. The 18-year-old winger was pulled at halftime as a precaution, and both the player and the club are playing down the severity.
“I felt a bit of pain, but it’s not a serious injury,” Zadok said. “They took me off because they didn’t want to risk anything.”
Coach Jose Riveiro was characteristically understated. “I don’t know anything about his injury. Am I worried? I can’t be worried about an injury I know nothing about,” he said, adding that Zadok could be in contention for the next match against Vasteras.
The timing is awkward. Zadok has five goal involvements in eight league appearances this season and was expected to receive his first Super Eagles call-up for the Unity Cup in London. Clubs from the Bundesliga and the Premier League have been watching him closely all season, which makes even a minor setback worth monitoring.
