Atlanta Locks Up London on Four-Year, $141 Million Extension

The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to a four-year, $141 million contract extension with wide receiver Drake London, according to ESPN, making him the third-highest-paid receiver in the NFL at $35.25 million per year. The deal includes $100 million guaranteed and can reach $150 million through incentives.

London, 24, was Atlanta’s first-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft out of USC. Over four seasons he has recorded 309 receptions for 3,961 yards and 22 touchdowns, with his best campaign coming in 2024 when he caught 100 passes for a career-high 1,271 yards and nine touchdowns as Kirk Cousins’ primary target. He had been entering this season on his fifth-year option before the two sides reached the longer-term agreement.

Only Seattle Seahawks receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who signed an extension worth a reported $168.8 million, and Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who agreed to a $161 million deal in March 2025, earn more annually among wide receivers, according to the draft material. The extension arrives as Atlanta faces an unresolved quarterback situation, with Michael Penix Jr. recovering from a partial ACL tear and the Falcons having signed Tua Tagovailoa to compete for the starting role during training camp.

London’s extension is not Atlanta’s only anticipated large outlay. Running back Bijan Robinson, who led the NFL last season with 2,298 scrimmage yards and earned his first All-Pro selection, already has his fifth-year option picked up for 2027, and a longer-term deal is widely expected. Tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. will play the coming season on the franchise tag, rounding out a skill-position group the Falcons are working to keep intact under the leadership of new president of football operations Matt Ryan.
