Chelsea hand new long-term deal to Oparaku’s son

Chelsea have signed academy defender Rio Adebisi, son of former Super Eagles star Mobi Oparaku, to a new long-term contract, the club confirmed this week as it continues securing its top youth talents.

The youngster has impressed coaches in Chelsea’s academy with consistent performances and rapid development at youth level. Club sources say the new deal reflects growing confidence in his future at Stamford Bridge.

“It’s a proud moment for me and my family,” the defender said after signing. “Chelsea is the best place for my development.”

Academy staff also praised his progress. “He has shown strong commitment and quality,” a club source noted. “We believe he has a bright future here.”

The extension highlights Chelsea’s strategy of building around emerging academy prospects.
