Courtside Knicks Finals tickets sell for $280,000 on StubHub
Two courtside seats at Madison Square Garden for a potential New York Knicks home game in the NBA Finals have already sold for $279,804 on secondary-ticket platform StubHub, as reported by sports business journalist Darren Rovell. The sale reflects surging demand around a franchise that has not reached the Finals since 1999.
The purchased seats would be used for Game 3 of the Finals, which would represent the Knicks’ first home appearance in the series. The Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs, both higher seeds than New York in the current playoffs, are contesting the Western Conference Finals, meaning the Knicks would not hold home-court advantage in a potential Finals matchup. As of Sunday night, the cheapest available ticket for that same hypothetical Game 3 at MSG was listed at $3,554 in an upper-level section, while the lowest-priced ticket for a potential Finals game at the Thunder’s home arena was $1,252.
The Knicks hold a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers and have won 10 consecutive playoff games. A Finals appearance would be only the third in the franchise’s history since 1973, when the club claimed its most recent NBA championship. New York also reached the Finals in 1994, losing to the Houston Rockets in seven games, and in 1999, when the San Antonio Spurs won the title in five games.
The Knicks can clinch a Finals berth in Game 4 against Cleveland, scheduled for Memorial Day at 8 p.m. in Cleveland.
