D’Tigress Name Provisional Squad for WWCQ

Nigeria’s D’Tigress have unveiled a provisional roster for the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers, as the reigning African champions begin preparations for the global tournament.

The Nigeria Basketball Federation released the list ahead of the qualifiers, aiming to assemble a balanced squad capable of securing a World Cup ticket. Several experienced internationals return alongside emerging talents, signaling a blend of continuity and fresh energy.

Head coach Rena Wakama said the selection reflects competition and depth. “We’ve picked players who understand the responsibility of representing Nigeria,” she noted. “Competition in camp will be intense.”

Team captain Amy Okonkwo added, “We know what’s at stake. Our goal is clear — qualify and make the country proud.”
