Enzo Fernandez Apologised But Still Misses Chelsea’s Man City Clash

Enzo Fernandez said sorry. It wasn’t enough to get him back on the pitch Sunday.
Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior confirmed the Argentine midfielder will remain suspended for the Premier League clash against Manchester City, despite Fernandez apologising to both the manager and the club over comments made during the international break.
“He’s apologised to me, to the club, and we’ll deal with that after a massive game on Sunday,” Rosenior said. “We’ve made a sanction. No, he won’t play on Sunday.”
Rosenior described the original remarks as “crossing a line” and said he held three or four conversations with Fernandez before the apology came. The 2022 World Cup winner also missed Chelsea’s 7-0 FA Cup win over Port Vale last weekend.
The manager was clear the suspension stands — but left the door open. “Hopefully, after that, he’ll be a massive part of the group moving forward.”
