Felix Agu set for training return at Werder Bremen

Super Eagles defender Felix Agu is close to returning to action after Werder Bremen confirmed the Nigerian full-back will resume partial training later this week following a recent adductor injury.
Agu has endured a frustrating season with injuries, including an ankle problem that ruled him out until February and forced him to miss the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations along with 13 matches for Bremen. His comeback was then delayed when he suffered another setback during the warm-up before a clash with St. Pauli on February 22.
“If everything goes well over the next few days, Felix and Samuel will return to partially integrated training on Thursday,” Bremen coach Daniel Thioune said.
Thioune added that the defender will still miss Sunday’s Bundesliga match against Mainz. However, Agu could return to the squad for the trip to Wolfsburg.
His recovery could also interest Nigeria’s coaching staff ahead of upcoming friendlies, although Bremen may prefer a cautious approach to avoid another injury setback.
