Ikeme tips Musa, Aribo to lift Leicester City fight

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme has backed Ahmed Musa and Joe Aribo to play key roles in Leicester City’s Premier League campaign, speaking in February 2026 as the Foxes battle for consistency. Ikeme said the Nigerian duo bring experience, versatility and leadership at a crucial stage of the season.

Musa, now in his second spell at Leicester, has contributed goals and assists in limited minutes, while Aribo has featured regularly across midfield, adding energy and tactical balance. “Ahmed knows the club and the league. He can change games,” Ikeme said. On Aribo, he added: “Joe gives you intelligence and work rate. Managers love players like that.”

Leicester boss Enzo Maresca also praised Aribo’s adaptability, noting that “he understands space and transitions very well,” while Musa recently stated, “My focus is helping the team win, whether I start or come off the bench.”

Ikeme believes their influence goes beyond numbers. “It’s not just goals or passes,” he said. “It’s mentality.” With Leicester chasing stability, the Nigerian pair could yet prove decisive in the run-in.
