Mikel Obi Shuts Down Barcelona’s Robbery Claims After Atletico UCL Exit

John Obi Mikel is not interested in Barcelona’s excuses. And he said so.
The former Super Eagles captain delivered a blunt verdict on Barcelona’s Champions League elimination — rejecting their complaints about refereeing and pointing the finger squarely at the Catalan side themselves.
“You dominated the ball the entire game just to do absolutely nothing with it,” Mikel said, “and then you shout ‘robbery’ when reality hits you.”
Barcelona won the second leg 2-1 but went out 3-2 on aggregate. Across both legs, they controlled possession and created little. Atletico defended, stayed compact, and when it mattered — Lookman scored.
Barcelona pointed to two red cards and controversial calls across the tie. Mikel was unmoved. Zero killer instinct, he argued. Blame-shifting instead of accountability.
Atletico are through. Barcelona are out. And Mikel told them exactly why.
