Molde’s Daniel Daga sentenced to six months

Flying Eagles midfielder Daniel Daga has been sentenced to six months in prison by a Norwegian court after being found guilty of committing a sexual act without consent.

The Nordmøre and Romsdal District Court delivered the verdict on March 10, also ordering the Molde FK player to pay 10,000 Norwegian kroner in legal costs. The case relates to an incident reported to police in April 2025.

Daga has denied wrongdoing and plans to challenge the decision. “He is very upset about the verdict and believes everything happened with consent,” his lawyer Astrid Bolstad said.

Molde earlier removed the 19-year-old from training and matches while the investigation continued. “This is a very difficult case for everyone involved,” the club said in a statement.

The verdict has created uncertainty over the young midfielder’s future as the appeal process moves forward.
