Ndidi Returns From Injury — and Chelle Can Finally Breathe

Wilfred Ndidi is back. Right on time.
The Super Eagles captain missed two Turkish Super Lig matches after picking up a hamstring injury during the Istanbul derby against Fenerbahce on April 5. On Thursday he played 90 full minutes as Besiktas beat Alanyaspor 3-0 in the Turkish Cup — his first appearance since going off hurt.
Eric Chelle has been tracking his recovery closely. Nigeria face the Unity Cup against Zimbabwe and either Jamaica or India in London next month, then friendlies against Poland and Portugal in June. Ndidi is central to all of it.
At his best, nobody organises Nigeria’s midfield like him. Chelle needed him fit. He’s got him.
