Nicol doubts Liverpool edge over Galatasaray threat

Liverpool are not clear favourites for their UEFA Champions League clash with Galatasaray at Anfield, as pundit Steve Nicol highlighted Victor Osimhen’s danger after the Turkish side’s 1–0 first-leg win in Istanbul.

Galatasaray carry a slim advantage into the second leg, with Osimhen posing constant problems despite not scoring. The Nigerian even had a goal ruled out for offside, underlining his impact.

“Liverpool have just capitulated against right now the worst in the Premier League,” Nicol told ESPN FC. “And they’re 1–0 behind Galatasaray.”

He added: “Osimhen can win any game on his own with a simple piece of magic.”

Osimhen, who has seven goals and three assists in nine UCL games, also scored against Liverpool earlier this season. “How Liverpool can be such a big favourite, I don’t get,” Nicol said.

The striker will aim to deliver again as Galatasaray chase a historic qualification.
