Nigerian forwards seal new clubs on deadline day in Europe

Several Nigeria-eligible forwards completed moves on Feb. 2, 2026, with former African Footballer of the Year Ademola Lookman topping the list by signing for Atlético de Madrid from Atalanta on a contract through June 2030.

Winger Philip Otele joined Hamburg on loan from FC Basel and will wear the No. 27 shirt, while Uchenna Ogundu penned a long-term deal with FC Augsburg after leaving Alanyaspor.

Victor Orakpo moved on loan to AS Nancy Lorraine in France’s Ligue 2, and Alvin Okoro agreed a temporary switch to Juve Stabia in Italy’s Serie B until June 2026.
