Nikki Bella Places Legacy Above Titles in Retirement Outlook
WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella says she wants to be remembered for using her voice and embodying fearlessness rather than for her championship record, telling Fox News Digital that the impact she had on fans represents her greatest accomplishment.
“I would love definitely to be remembered as fearless, as someone who wasn’t scared to use her voice, someone who wasn’t scared to pave the ways,” Bella said. “What I’ve realized, and this is in any industry and this is throughout time, it’s never easy to be first or be the loudest about something.” She added that she hoped even critics would eventually respect her consistency through adversity, describing her fan base, which she calls the Bella Army, as her true measure of success: “That is better than any championship I could ever win, ever.”
Bella’s in-ring career includes two Divas Championship reigns, one of which lasted a record 301 days, and she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame alongside her twin sister Brie Bella in 2020. She acknowledged that fans naturally focus on title counts when evaluating a performer’s career, but drew a distinction between statistical legacy and personal impact. “For me, it’s always been about impact,” she said. “If I was able to change some people’s lives – maybe they were being raised in a not great home and I gave them the ability to be fearless – to me, that’s being a champion.”
Bella has returned to WWE programming in 2025, appearing on Monday Night RAW, and has not announced a firm retirement date, leaving the timeline for her final assessment as an active competitor open.
