Oboabona: Teamwork key for Eagles vs Tunisia

Former Nigeria defender Godfrey Oboabona has urged the Super Eagles to put ego aside and play as a unit when they face Tunisia on Saturday in AFCON 2025, a game that could seal early qualification. Nigeria beat Tanzania 2-1 in their opener, while Tunisia saw off Uganda 3-1, leaving both sides on three points heading into the Group C showdown.

“Football today is no longer about individual stars,” Oboabona said, warning that talent means little without “collective play, teamwork, and commitment.” He added: “This is African football. It is not about names or stars. It is very physical and demanding,” insisting Nigeria can go far “if they play as a team.”
