Okolie and Adeleye set for Lagos bouts December 19

Lawrence Okolie and David Adeleye will headline a major boxing event in Lagos, Nigeria, on December 19, as both heavyweights take separate fights on the same card. The show will mark a high-profile return to Africa for the British-based fighters and is aimed at boosting elite professional boxing on the continent.
Former world champion Okolie, who holds a record of 22 wins and one defeat, is set to continue his heavyweight campaign after recording back-to-back victories this year. “Fighting in Nigeria is something special for me,” Okolie said in comments carried by British media. “It’s about representing my roots and taking another step forward in my career.”
Adeleye, who has won 13 of his 14 victories by knockout, will also feature prominently on the bill. “This is a chance to perform in front of people who really understand boxing,” Adeleye said. “I want to make a statement.”
Promoters described the Lagos event as a landmark occasion, with one organiser noting that “bringing fighters of this level to Nigeria shows how much the sport is growing here.” The full list of opponents is expected to be confirmed closer to fight week.
