Onuachu Chases Trabzonspor Goal Record With 22 Strikes in 25 Games

Onuachu Hunts Trabzonspor’s All-Time Scoring Record in Turkish Lig
Paul Onuachu is having the season of his career. The Nigerian striker has scored 22 goals in 25 appearances for Trabzonspor — a return so dominant it is threatening records that have stood for years in Turkish football.
Three more goals would surpass Alexander Sørloth’s single-season haul of 24 — currently the Trabzonspor benchmark — set during the 2019/20 campaign before Sørloth moved on to Atlético Madrid. Four more would eclipse Shota Arveladze’s all-time club record of 25 in a single season. Onuachu has already broken Burak Yilmaz’s record for consecutive games with goals this term.
At his current rate, he is averaging close to a goal per game and accounts for roughly 40 percent of Trabzonspor’s league output. Six games remain.
This is Onuachu’s most prolific season since 2020/21 — a remarkable resurgence after his difficult spell in England. Trabzonspor sit third in the Süper Lig, one point behind leaders Galatasaray, and have not won the title since 2022.
Onuachu is giving them every reason to dream again.
