Onuachu scores again as Nigerian stars shine

Paul Onuachu led another strong weekend for Nigerian footballers in Europe after scoring for Trabzonspor in a home win over Fatih Karagümrük in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Super Eagles striker, now leading the league’s scoring chart, later posted a message on social media that appeared to target compatriot Victor Osimhen: “No paid media. No bought hype. Just hard work, quality and goals.”

Osimhen also found the net for Galatasaray in their victory against Alanyaspor, while Wilfred Ndidi anchored Besiktas’ midfield in a narrow 1-0 away win over Kocaelispor.

In Spain, Ademola Lookman helped Atlético Madrid secure a 1-0 win at Real Oviedo before being substituted as the team prepares for a crucial clash with Barcelona.

In England, Alex Iwobi scored in Fulham’s match against Tottenham, with Calvin Bassey also impressing in defence. “We keep pushing every week,” Iwobi said after the game. “The focus is always to help the team win.”
