Onyedika tipped to start as Ndidi misses Morocco tie

Nigeria are expected to reshuffle their midfield for the AFCON 2025 semi-final against Morocco, with Raphael Onyedika set to replace the suspended Wilfred Ndidi in the Super Eagles’ starting XI. The high-profile clash will be played in Rabat as Nigeria push for a place in the final.

Ndidi’s absence forces head coach José Peseiro into a key adjustment, but Onyedika is tipped to step in alongside Alex Iwobi to provide balance and energy. “Wilfred is a big miss, but this squad is built to adapt,” Peseiro said. “Onyedika has trained well and understands the task.”

Up front, Victor Osimhen is expected to spearhead the attack after netting four goals at the tournament, with Ademola Lookman offering support from wide areas. “We respect Morocco, but we believe in ourselves,” Osimhen said. “Every player is ready to fight.”

Morocco arrive with a strong defensive record, setting up a tactical battle in midfield. Former captain Sunday Oliseh noted: “Nigeria must stay compact and aggressive. The team that controls midfield will control the game.”
