Onyeka Champions as Coventry Clinch EFL Championship Title

Frank Onyeka is going to the Premier League. And he helped make it happen.

Coventry City confirmed themselves as EFL Championship winners on Tuesday night, beating Portsmouth 5-1 to seal an unbeatable 89-point total. Onyeka, on loan from Brentford, was in the thick of it — playing 65 minutes before making way in a dominant display under Frank Lampard.

Haji Wright, Ephron Mason-Clark (twice), an own goal and a late Kesler-Hayden strike did the damage. Portsmouth’s Segečić got a consolation. It was never in doubt.

Onyeka arrived in January and barely put a foot wrong. Energy, defensive bite, Premier League experience — he gave Coventry exactly what they needed. Now top-flight football awaits.
