Onyeka joins Coventry from Brentford on loan deal

Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka has completed a loan move to Coventry City on February 2026, joining the Championship side until the end of the season in search of regular playing time.
Coventry confirmed the deal on Monday, with Onyeka arriving to bolster the club’s midfield as they push for a strong league finish. The Nigeria international struggled for minutes at Brentford this season, prompting the temporary switch.
“We believe Frank will add energy and experience to our midfield,” Coventry boss Mark Robins said. Onyeka echoed the ambition, adding: “I want to play consistently and help the team achieve its targets.”
Brentford head coach Thomas Frank described the move as beneficial for all parties, noting that Onyeka needs game time after making over 100 appearances for the club since joining from Midtjylland. The loan gives the 26-year-old a chance to rediscover form and momentum in a demanding Championship run-in.
