Oshoala targets Nigeria success at 2026 World Cup

Nigeria captain Asisat Oshoala has set her sights on leading the Super Falcons to success at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting the team must aim higher on football’s biggest stage.

The six-time African Player of the Year said Nigeria has the talent to compete with top nations if the squad prepares well and stays united ahead of the global tournament. “We have to believe we can achieve something big,” Oshoala said.

The forward stressed that experience from previous tournaments will be key for the Falcons. “Every competition teaches us something. We must use that to improve,” she added.

Nigeria remain one of Africa’s most successful women’s teams, and Oshoala believes stronger preparation and belief could help the Falcons make a deeper World Cup run.
