Osimhen Slams Gala Despite 5-4 Juventus Win

Victor Osimhen criticized Galatasaray’s display after their dramatic Champions League play-off clash with Juventus in Turin on Wednesday night, despite the Turkish side advancing 5-4 on aggregate.
Galatasaray carried a 5-2 first-leg lead into the return game but collapsed under pressure as Juventus fought back. Goals from Manuel Locatelli, Federico Gatti and Weston McKennie wiped out the deficit, even after the Italians were reduced to ten men. Osimhen struck in extra time to steady the tie before Baris Alper Yilmaz sealed qualification.
“It’s a relief to go through, but I’m disappointed with our performance,” Osimhen told CBS Sports. “Juventus deserved the win on the night.”
The Nigerian forward added, “We can’t play like this against bigger teams. Some were timid, and that must change.”
Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti praised his side’s spirit, saying, “Even with ten men, we showed courage.”
