PSAC denies delay as NFF holds arbitration rulings

The Professional Sports Arbitration Court (PSAC) has distanced itself from delays surrounding unresolved arbitration cases, two months after hearings were concluded, insisting that responsibility lies with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). The clarification came this week amid growing concern within Nigerian football circles.

PSAC officials said verdicts were delivered promptly and forwarded to the NFF Secretariat, where they are yet to be communicated or enforced. “Our duty ends with issuing the decisions,” a PSAC source stated, stressing that “no ruling is being held back by the court.”

An NFF insider, however, acknowledged administrative bottlenecks, noting that “internal processes have slowed communication.” A legal expert familiar with the cases warned that prolonged delays could “undermine confidence in football arbitration.”

The situation has sparked frustration among affected parties as pressure mounts on the NFF to act and bring closure to the pending disputes.
