Remo Stars snatch late win as NPFL title race heats up

Defending champions Remo Stars kept their NPFL title hopes alive on Sunday with a dramatic 2–1 victory over Nasarawa United in Ikenne, as the Nigerian Professional Football League season edges toward a tense finish.
After a goalless first half, Stanley Joseph finally broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute to give the hosts the lead. Nasarawa United responded late when Suleiman Dauda equalised in the 83rd minute, but Remo Stars struck back almost immediately as Michael Ibe scored two minutes from time to seal a crucial win.
Elsewhere, Shooting Stars edged Wikki Tourists 3–2 in a thrilling clash in Ibadan. Sadiq Ibrahim opened the scoring before Abba Musa levelled, while Lucky Emmanuel restored the hosts’ lead just before halftime. John Taiwo equalised again after the break, but Tijani Al-Ameen netted a late winner.
In Aba, Enyimba secured a comfortable 2–0 victory over Plateau United, with Paul Odeh and Chinedu Ufere on target for the People’s Elephant.
