Super Falcons Learn LA 2028 Olympic Qualifying Route as Draw Held in Cairo

Nigeria’s Super Falcons now know the road that leads to Los Angeles.

The CAF draw for the 2028 Olympic women’s football qualifiers took place Wednesday at CAF headquarters in Cairo, with 35 African nations learning their qualifying paths. Only two teams will ultimately make it to LA. The process runs across five gruelling rounds.

The Super Falcons — nine-time African champions and Paris 2024 participants — entered as one of the top seeds, giving them some protection in the early rounds. The full draw results will shape Nigeria’s campaign planning over the coming months.

Africa’s strongest women’s teams are all in: South Africa, Morocco, Ghana, Cameroon, Kenya. Getting to LA won’t be easy for anyone. But Nigeria have done it before. They know what it takes.
