Trabzonspor Boss Calls Out Referee Over Fouls on Onuachu

Paul Onuachu played 90 minutes. Got fouled repeatedly. And the referee did nothing about it — at least, that’s what his coach thinks.

Trabzonspor head coach Fatih Tekke came out swinging after his side’s 1-1 draw with Basaksehir, pointing the finger at referee Alper Akarsu. “There were obvious fouls on Onuachu,” Tekke said. “In several of these positions, the opponent won the attack, meanwhile our players were getting fouled.”

The Super Eagles striker managed just one shot on target despite leading the Turkish Super Lig scoring charts with 22 goals. The dropped points hurt. Trabzonspor are now third, six points behind Galatasaray with four games left.

Title race effectively over. And Onuachu deserved better than this.
