Uche Takes Parting Shot at Glasner as Crystal Palace Loan Comes to an End

Christantus Uche is leaving Crystal Palace. And he didn’t go quietly.
The Nigerian midfielder is returning to Getafe this summer after a frustrating season-long loan at Selhurst Park. He made 22 appearances — mostly off the bench, zero Premier League starts. The obligation-to-buy clause had conditions. They weren’t met.
Uche’s message to the fans was warm. His message about the manager was not.
“I may not have much playing time, but I am grateful for the fans,” he said. “But I know maybe it won’t happen again because the coach doesn’t like me.”
Oliver Glasner has attracted interest from Manchester United and Chelsea this summer on the back of Palace’s strong season. That will sting Uche a little more.
He was impressive in La Liga before the move to England. Getafe brought him through. He’ll be back with them next season, starting over — and presumably under a coach who does like him.
