Viktoria Plzen Sign Super Eagles Forward Salim Lawal

Super Eagles forward Salim Fago Lawal has completed a move to Czech First League club Viktoria Plzen, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract after leaving Croatian side NK Istra.

The 23-year-old Nigerian attacker, who scored 15 goals and provided two assists last season, joins Plzen as the club looks to boost its attack following Rafiu Durosinmi’s departure.

“I know Viktoria from their strong runs in European competitions and see this as a big step in my career,” Lawal said on the club’s official website, underlining his excitement to contribute immediately.

Sporting director Martin Vozábal added: “With Durosinmi gone, we needed more firepower up front. Lawal’s pace and versatility to play across the front line make him a perfect fit for our league campaign.”

The Nigerian, who featured for the Super Eagles at AFCON 2025, is expected to be available for Plzen’s upcoming Czech First League fixtures once he settles in.
