Zadok and AIK Both Deny Nigeria Unity Cup Call-Up Reports

Nigerian media said he’d been called up. Neither Zadok Yohanna nor his club had heard anything about it.

The 18-year-old AIK winger was reportedly named in Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming Unity Cup in London. Reports suggested an official NFF invitation had gone out. Eric Chelle was monitoring him, they said.

Zadok’s response: “It’s not official yet, I don’t know. I’ve seen it on social media, but I don’t know.”

AIK sports director Miika Takkula was equally straight: “I have heard the rumors but I have not received any official contact from their federation.”

So — nothing confirmed, nothing sent, nothing received. Zadok has eight goal involvements in 17 games for AIK this season. The talent is there. He also told reporters he’s hoping for the call. “I hope they call me.”
